Our Founder

Dave Martin has been in the financial services industry for 50 years and has been consulting with family businesses for over 47 years. Although his background and experience include an understanding of the all the legal, financial and risk aspects of the family business, he has extensive experience in the most important aspect of family succession planning, the intergenerational transfer of the family business.

He first developed his expertise in 1975 using the ideas and concepts developed by Leon Danco, Phd,, the founder of the concept of Family Business Consulting. He has been married for over 40 years and lives in Reno, NV with his wife. He and his wife have two daughters one of whom is married and a son.

Prior to entering the financial services industry, he flew during the Vietnam era in the Navy from 1966 through 1970. He remained in the active reserves through 1976. He is a pilot and has a Commercial Pilots license valid for Single and Multi Engine Land Aircraft and an Instrument Rating.
